Suwon Wanggalbi Chicken Review Movie Extreme Job Korea Food

It has never tasted like this before. It’s either ribs or whole chicken. Yes, it’s Suwon King Ribs Whole Chicken. This is a famous line from the movie Extreme Job. ( I loved it, movie extreme job )This was the trigger for me to go there. I went to Jangan Tongdak, one of the three chicken restaurants in Namun Chicken Street in Suwon.

In fact, it was the taste of Suwon Wanggalbi Chicken that started the whole trip. I’ve eaten a lot of fried chicken, marinated chicken, fried chicken, and even soy sauce chicken. I’ve been wondering what it tastes like since I watched the movie Extreme Job, and I finally got to taste it.

Suwon Nammun Tongdak Street Wanggalbi Chicken

This is a view of Tongdak Alley, Tongdak Street, South Gate, Suwon. I got off the bus from Suwon Station, and I was a little hesitant to see if this was the right place, but it is.

If you go into the alley here, you’ll come out to Tongdak Street in Suwon Namun. Just go a little further for Suwon Wanggalbi Chicken.

I try to click the shutter at places like the intersection of Tongdak Street and Tongdak Alley in Suwon. If you come to where I’m standing, there are lots of fried chicken restaurants from east, west, north and south.

This is the Nammun Tongdak, which became the stage for the movie Extreme Job.

If you turn your head in front of Nammun Tongdak Chicken, you’ll see Yongseong Tongdak Chicken, one of Suwon’s top three Suwon Wanggalbi Chicken restaurants.

Suwon’s top three fried chicken restaurants are called Jinmi Tongdak, Yongsung Tongdak, and Jangan Tongdak. I went to Jangan Tongdak, which is recommended by Suwon residents on this day.

Oh, this is the location of Tongdak Alley, Tongdak Street, Namun, Suwon. All three of Suwon’s top three Tongdak, chicken shops are concentrated here.

The closest parking lots, such as the Kokko Parking Lot, cost 1500 won for 30 minutes and 500 won for each additional 10 minutes.

The Namsudong Public Parking Lot, which is a bit further away but within walking distance, costs 400 won for 30 minutes and 200 won for each additional 10 minutes, with a maximum daily rate of 4000 won.

Alternatively, you can also use the Hwaseong Hwaseong Palace public parking lot. You can also walk to Tongdak Street and Tongdak Alley in Suwon. It costs 2000 won for 30 minutes and 2000 won for each additional hour.

Jangan Tongdak is located across from Nammun Tongdak on Tongdak Street in Suwon.

I chose Jangan Tongdak because it was recommended by a local in Suwon.

I wanted to take the time to eat at a restaurant that was recognized by the locals while visiting Suwon.

The movie Extreme Job is already released in 2019.

While there are already stores in other areas besides the main store in Suwon (in other words, you can try it there too), I was drawn to a restaurant that can only be found in Tongdak Street in Suwon.

This is the menu of Jangan Tongdak, the 3rd largest whole chicken in Suwon.

I liked the menu because it wasn’t complicated, just the basics.

I ordered half and half, so I got half a whole chicken + half a marinated chicken.

I took a seat in the corner. I was actually very worried before stopping by Jang’an Tongdak, Suwon’s top three chicken restaurants.

I had a limited amount of time to spend on this day, and I was worried that I would end up wasting a lot of time in the queue.

But luckily, even though I arrived around noon, Jangan Tongdak had plenty of room.

I’ve seen a few other restaurants on Tongdak Street in Suwon from the outside, and they seem to be similar to Jangan Tongdak.

If you have the time, I’d recommend visiting on a weekday. I’ve never been here on the weekend, so I’m not sure what it’s like, but I’m sure it’s more crowded than it is now.

When I visited, there were about two tables eating chicken and there were plenty of seats available.

Each table has a call bell. If you want something from the staff who are busy making food, you can enjoy the bell.

Suddenly, I’m reminded of the scene in Crime City 2 where Ma Dong-seok says, “If you think you’re going to die from being beaten, ring the bell.” You can also ring the bell to order more because it’s so delicious.

If you get full, don’t ring the bell, and you can take your leftovers to go at the self-serve bar in the shop.

I don’t know if there is a minimum number of people to make a reservation, but you can call 031-252-5190 and ask.

What I found after ordering half a marinated chicken and half a whole roast chicken

While ordering and waiting for my food, I saw something interesting.

I immediately realized that a Samsung commercial had been filmed here at Chang’an Tong Dak.

In our daily life, we often forget that we love chicken in foreign countries because it’s not a foreign food, except for eating chicken when our foreign friends come over, so we remind ourselves once again.

You know how Tongdak’s sandwiches have that chewy, savory flavor?

It’s a sandwich that doesn’t taste fishy. While I was eating this, I was craving a drink, so I ordered a 500cc beer, just one.

They also gave me some fried chicken. I think it’s a nationwide thing, the fried chicken tastes the same everywhere.

It’s finally here. Wow. My eyes were really wide open.

During the coronavirus, when I was eating chicken, it was always takeout or delivery.

When I ordered chicken from a store like this in the daytime, my mouth was watering.

This is Jangan Tongdak, one of the top 3 chicken restaurants in Suwon.

For this moment, I worked hard in Suwon with the thought, “I will try this chicken, too,” and saved a little bit of money, like saving my own time, to get here.

I usually have a habit of organizing my week’s plans before the week starts, and I tried to keep this day’s plan in mind and reflect it in my weekly plan.

The day before we were supposed to eat Jang’an Tongdak, the 3rd best chicken in Suwon, I was working so hard that I wondered if I wouldn’t be able to come here as planned because I was behind on work.

If you’re self-employed or running a business, I’m sure there are many people like me who get nervous and think, “I really want to do this, but what if I can’t?”.

If you’ve been wanting to go somewhere for a long time and have prepared thoroughly, but something unexpected happens, you can’t help it, but the disappointment is indescribable.

But I think it’s also fun to run around like this sometimes, wondering what chicken tastes like.

I wasted a lot of time hesitating. I should have just closed my eyes and come here.

On a day trip to Suwon, I realized that I had fulfilled my #1 goal of visiting Suwon and it wasn’t even 2pm yet.

I was so happy.

It’s always good to have a ‘small’ adventure once in a while, instead of going to a restaurant near your home.
